HR ASSIST


Human resources is a vital component of every business. The Small Business Administration estimates that small to mid-size business owners spend approximately 35-45 percent of their time handling HR tasks, which takes attention away from core business activities.


With "HR Assist", a HR specialist will be assigned to your company for a pre-determined number of hours. During that time, he/she will work with you by assisting with the projects/responsibilities determined in the initial HR assessment. Our focus is on your particular issues, and importantly, state & federal workforce compliance issues.

"HR Assist" package includes assistance in the following areas:


HR Services: Recruitment, Selection and Hiring
  • Review Application (ensure employment application is sound and compliant with applicable state and federal requirements)
  • Review Application (ensure employment application is sound and compliant with applicable state and federal requirements)
  • Open position posting and advertising (assist in writing job ads that are compliant with EEOC guidelines)
  • Pre-screening (assist in the prescreening process ensuring only those meeting the minimum requirements of the position advance for interviews)
  • Create sample interview questions (assist in creating interview questions that are compliant with EEOC and NERC guidelines)
  • Consultation on the interview process
  • New hire orientation checklist (assist in the creation of an orientation checklist and procedure)
  • New hire reporting (ensure that all new hire reporting procedures are done in accordance with Nevada law)
HR Services: Recordkeeping, Policies and Procedures
  • Compliance review (I-9, etc.) (make sure all employees have I-9's, W-4's and other legally required records and documents)
  • Mandatory law posters (ensure that your organization has all the required and updated posters)
  • Review personnel files (ensure personnel files are compliant and are maintained accurately)
  • Wage and hour - a review of your policies on state and federal law compliance
  • Handbook creation and/or review (review current employee handbook or assist in creating one)
  • Job descriptions, from an ADA perspective (ensure current job descriptions contain essential functions and provide new job descriptions when necessary)
HR Services: Employee Relations
  • Performance appraisals (review performance appraisals prior to their presentation to the employee)
  • Employee disciplinary action (consult in disciplinary matters with employer allowing employer to make best decision)
  • Documentation requirements (ensure that all disciplinary matters are accompanied by good, sound documentation)
  • Exit interviews (assist in conducting exit interviews)
  • Unemployment insurance (assist in formulating responses to the state and in unemployment hearings)
  • Harassment investigations
