Bills of the 2013 Legislative Session currently being tracked by NAE:
AB63: excludes employees in computer and IT professions from daily overtime NO PASS 1st Deadline
AB141: makes it unlawful for an employer to require an employee to enter into a tip pooling agreement as a condition of employment NO PASS 1st Deadline
AB181: limits an employer’s insistence on demanding social media passwords from employees or applicants
AB193: revises Nevada law to allow rounding of an employee’s time worked record similar to federal law NO PASS 1st Deadline
AB339: this bill would not compel an employer to pay overtime under certain circumstances beyond the employer's control
AB482: Imposes a temporary assessment on certain employers for interest payments due on advances made by the Federal Government relating to unemployment benefits.
SB70: amends Nevada law to include a family caregiver as a protected category NO PASS 1st Deadline
SB87: removes the prohibition against discrimination by an employer based on an employee's lawful use of any product outside work NO PASS 1st Deadline
SB95: creates a task force on employee misclassification in Nevada NO PASS 1st Deadline
SB96: allows the labor commissioner to fine employers up to $25,000 per offense for misclassifying workers as independent contractors and suspending their business license for up to 3 years NO PASS 1st Deadline
SB127: makes it unlawful for an employer to require credit reports or discharge or refuse to hire because of failure to submit or refusal to provide a report
SB360: establishes criteria for the purpose of determining whether a person is an independent contractor or employee NO PASS 1st Deadline
